Prisoner flee’s from high-security Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI: A major security lapse has been reported in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Central Jail, from where a high-profile prisoner involved in a drug case allegedly escaped on Wednesday.

According to the report, the accused, Noman, hailing from Chakwal, was shifted to Adiala Jail after appearing in court. Despite being handed over to the jail authorities by the concerned staff, he was found missing during the head count.

While the jail administration has maintained silence on the incident, sources have confirmed that the police have started an investigation into the escape.
