LAHORE: Private schools have demanded the abolition of Friday holidays to improve the education system. They say that the current academic calendar has fewer teaching days, which is affecting curricular activities.

A meeting of private schools across Punjab was held under the chairmanship of Pak Education House Chairman Qazi Naeem Anjum. Various educational leaders and school owners attended the meeting and discussed educational issues in detail.

During the meeting, it was said that the desired results are not being achieved from online classes. The participants demanded that at least 210 days be set aside for teaching in the annual academic calendar for better educational results.

On this occasion, it was also pointed out that the education of students has been affected due to the delayed printing of textbooks. The participants demanded that the books be published on time next year to avoid educational losses.

It was also decided in the meeting that the issues of affiliation of educational institutions should be resolved immediately. There was also emphasis on expanding the affiliation of private schools with the Lahore Board.

Qazi Naeem Anjum said that practical steps are needed to improve the quality of education. If the teaching days are reduced, the performance of students will be affected.

Other leaders participating in the meeting also agreed that a change in policy is necessary to strengthen the education system. They demanded that the government resolve the problems of private schools on priority basis.
