PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a Senate ticket for a women’s seat to Mashal Yousafzai, according to a notification issued by the chairman of PTI, Gohar khan.
According to the notification, the ticket was awarded on the instructions from the PTI founder, Imran Khan.
All the other women candidates were instructed to withdraw their nomination papers by July 30. Sajida Begum, Momina Basit, Sameera Shams, and Saima Khalid were asked to take back the nomination papers.
The election for the seat will be held on July 31 in the Assembly hall of the Khybar Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, PTI was declared successful in 4 out of 7 general seats. PTI’s Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Mirza Afridi, and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri won the general seats.
According to the unofficial results, the opposition parties won 3 general seats. PML-N’s Niaz Ahmed, PPP’s Talha Mahmood, and JUI-F’s Atta-ul-Haq won the general seats.
According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results, PTI candidate Murad Saeed won the general seat. He got 26 votes, Faisal Javed got 22, and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri got 21 votes, whereas Mirza Afridi got 21 votes.
PTI’s Rubina Naz and PPP’s Rubina Khalid won one of the two women’s seats.
According to the provisional results, PTI’s candidate Rubina Naz got 89 votes for the women’s seat. PTI’s Azam Swati won one of the technocrat seats and JUI-F’s Dilawar Khan won the other.
