ISLAMABAD: In a recent political development, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI)  leader Sher Afzal Marwat has been issued a show cause notice for alleged discretions against party discipline.

The notification issued by the PTI Central Secretariat stated that no part member is allowed to make ‘any adverse and disparaging remarks’ against any officer bearer of central body of the Party and the negotiating team.

Despite the pronounced directive from founding Chairman Imran Khan, Marwat proved to very outspoken against the party’s policies, causing damage to the party image on more than one occasion. Which is clearly against the party policies made by the founder Imran Khan, notice added.

The notice further orders Marwat to defend himself within seven days while advising him not to appear on any other public media platform as a representative of the party or raise any more issues during that time.

Earlier in December 2024, the party issued show cause notices to several other  members  of PTI regarding violations of party discipline over the constitutional amendments saga.

The party has taken an edgily strong position against the members who violate party policies.  The Show Cause notice is a formal step towards the disciplinary action and to protect the image of PTI in public’s eyes.
