LAHORE: Dr. Shahid Siddique, a prominent private hospital owner and local leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was tragically shot and killed outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore.
The attack occurred shortly after Friday prayers when an unidentified assailant fired four shots at Dr. Siddique.
Police reports confirm that Dr. Siddique was targeted as he exited the mosque after prayers. The motive for the attack is under investigation, and authorities are examining various factors, including the possibility of a targeted killing.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Usman Anwar, has ordered an immediate response to apprehend the assailant(s), deploying all available resources to resolve the case effectively. The IG has also requested a detailed report from the DIG Operations on the incident.
In response to the targeted killing, the DIG Operations has addressed the incident and stated that suspects are being tracked with the assistance of Safe City cameras.
