PESHAWAR: Shah Farman, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has resigned as senior advisor to KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Farman cited his responsibilities as a member of the Accountability Committee, formed by PTI founder Imran Khan, as the reason behind his resignation. He explained that continuing as an advisor could conflict with his duties to oversee the performance of the provincial government.

The Accountability Committee, comprising Farman, senior legal expert Qazi Anwar, and advisor to CM on anti-corruption Musaddiq, was established to monitor the performance of ministers and review complaints regarding corruption.

The committee aims to promote good governance, expand the scope of the Anti-Corruption Department, and investigate corruption cases against high-ranking officers and ministers. After reviewing cases, the committee will forward them to the courts for further action.

Farman assured his commitment to upholding transparency and merit in government operations and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Gandapur for the opportunity to serve as senior advisor.

In addition, he also stated that he will continue to support the Chief Minister in addressing governance, merit violations, and corruption concerns. This development comes after concerns were raised about ministerial performance during a meeting between Imran Khan and the Chief Minister.
