RAWALAKOT: To commemorate Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Martyrs’ Day), the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch has announced a public holiday on Friday, August 29, 2025.
According to the notification, all offices of the district government will remain closed. However, department heads have been asked to ensure their staff members participate in the formal ceremony, which will be organized at the District Headquarters Complex, Rawalakot.
The holiday intends to celebrate and remember the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs. Senior government officials such as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Commissioner of Poonch Division, the Superintendent of Police of Poonch, and the Information Department have been issued copies of the notification and will act accordingly.
