Punjab announces new school timings for February 2024

LAHORE: In a move aimed at ensuring the well-being of students amidst changing weather conditions, authorities in Punjab have announced rescheduled school timings for the month of February 2024.

Starting from February 1, 2024, schools across the province will commence their classes at 8:00 am and conclude at 2:30 pm. This adjustment comes as the extreme cold wave, coupled with rains, comes to an end.

New Timings for Schools in Lahore 2024

The revised timings dictate that regular classes at boys’ schools in Lahore and other cities will be conducted from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, while for girls’ schools, classes will take place from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm. Additionally, on Fridays, boys’ schools will conclude classes at 12:15 pm, and girls’ schools will wrap up at 12:00 pm.

Authorities have also accommodated schools operating on double shifts by modifying their timings accordingly.

This decision follows the closure of educational institutions and the postponement of exams in December 2023 and January 2024 due to the worsening smog situation and the cold wave.
