Punjab approves e-stamp paper digitization: Details inside

LAHORE: To combat fraud, the Board of Revenue (BoR) Punjab has approved measures to modernize and digitize the e-stamp paper system during a full board meeting chaired by Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed.

The meeting was attended by senior officials like Member Colonies Malik Abdul Waheed and Chief Settlement Commissioner Khalid Saleem. In the meeting, 14 agenda items including reorganization of colony branches in all districts of Punjab were approved.

A committee has been set up to review the extension of lease tenure of government land allotted to agricultural graduates. The committee will submit its recommendations on the lease policy in two weeks.

The meeting also approved reforms in the tax department of the Board of Revenue to increase the efficiency of tax collection. Additionally, improvements to BoR’s internal audit system were approved to ensure transparency in government land management, recovery of dues from illegal occupants and audit of commercial and agricultural properties.

Nabeel Javed directed the board members to maintain transparency in the auction and lease of government lands and make all relevant information available online. Additionally, the board discussed a proposal to move all registrations to a digital, paperless system.
