LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari said that payments have started for applicants whose registration and verification have been completed under the motorcycle subsidy program.

Addressing a press conference along with Punjab Minister for Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, she said that the government has extended the registration deadline by one month to facilitate applicants and has waived fees during this period.

She urged those who have not yet registered to complete the process within the extended timeline to benefit from the subsidy, adding that no section of the society, including the disabled, has been excluded from the program.

The minister said that the government has ensured uninterrupted supply of petroleum products, while acknowledging that some technical aspects of pricing are not directly under its control.

She also said that previous governments had failed to create adequate capacity in the energy sector, an issue that is now under consideration. Highlighting the transport initiatives, he said that 100 new buses will be added by the end of April, followed by another 400 buses by the end of May to expand green public transport across Punjab.
