LAHORE: As the deadlock between the government and opposition remains intact, the Punjab Assembly session to present budget postponed once again.

As per details, the deadlock between both camps is over the matter of bringing the IG, Chief Secretary to the official gallery during Punjab budget.

The sources have revealed that the negotiations are still going on regarding the budget presentation in the House between the treasury and opposition benches.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Speaker ordered yesterday to bring IG and Chief Secretary in the House during the session.

Notably, the tussle between the treasury and opposition benches in Punjab Assembly has caused the postponement of the budget session, and the budget was not presented in the assembly on Monday.

The assembly sitting could not started as the opposition and the treasury benches continued protesting against each other.

After the success of talks between the opposition and treasury, the session commenced after several hours of delay but the opposition benches again started protesting against the presence of Punjab government spokesperson Attaullah Tarar in the assembly, as he is not a member.

“We will not let the budget be presented till [Chief Minister] Hamza Shahbaz is present in the house, while the inspector-general and chief secretary are sitting in the gallery,” the Opposition said.
