COAS Gen Bajwa meets with Chinese Military officials in Beijing

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa led a Pakistani delegation to meet the Chinese military officials to discuss defense cooperation, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Gen Bajwa with his fellow staff members and a few Government officials landed in Beijing on Thursday. The delegation aimed to discuss a wide range of meeting with the military and government officials for strategic and defense cooperation.

The two iron brothers are working on a multi-billion dollar economic corridor to develop infrastructure in Pakistan and worldwide cooperation for trade.

COAS Qamar Bajwa chaired Pakistan in the ‘Apex Meeting’ on Sunday, while General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, led the Peoples Republic of China.

“Both sides discussed their perspectives on the international and regional security situation and expressed satisfaction with defense cooperation between the two countries.

Pakistan and China reaffirmed their strategic partnership in challenging times and agreed to continue the regular exchange of perspectives on issues of mutual interest.

Both sides also vowed to enhance their training, technology, and counterterrorism cooperation at the tri-service level.” ISPR said in a press release.
