HAVANA: A 6.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Caribbean country of Cuba, causing buildings to shake in various areas including the capital Havana and spreading panic among citizens.
According to the details, according to the seismological center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the sea near the coast of western Cuba, while its depth was recorded at 10 kilometers. The tremors of the earthquake were felt for several seconds, after which people came out of their homes and buildings.
According to foreign media reports, there were no initial reports of any casualties or major financial losses, however, relevant agencies have started assessing the situation.
According to US media, aftershocks of the earthquake were also felt in some areas of the US state of Florida, due to which residents there also reported light tremors.
Authorities have advised citizens to be cautious and take safety precautions in view of possible aftershocks.
