Punjab govt allocates over Rs. 300 Billion for projects in South Punjab

LAHORE: Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Fawad Hashim Rabbani has announced that Rs309 billion has been allocated for 1006 projects of the Annual Development Program in South Punjab.

He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the budget has been increased by Rs10 billion. Compared to last year, Rs81 billion, Rs43 billion have already been released for development schemes.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Musarrat Jabeen in his office. The meeting focused on establishing an effective mechanism to expedite project implementation and ensure timely completion.

The Additional Chief Secretary emphasized that all projects should be completed within their stipulated time. He directed the officers to conduct field visits to review the quality and progress and hold weekly meetings to remove obstacles in project implementation.

He also stressed on the urgent restoration of the historical forts of Cholistan to their original condition and stressed on promoting eco-tourism in the region. He suggested adding new events to the Cholistan Jeep Rally to increase public interest.

Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen briefed the Additional Chief Secretary about the progress of ongoing projects and their current status.
