Punjab govt announces over 2000 new jobs across province

LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, approved thousands of new government jobs. The decision came during the 32nd Cabinet meeting.

The recruiting efforts aim to enhance public services, law enforcement operations, and tourism management activities. The Cabinet approved 216 constable positions in Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control.

The Murree Tourism Police Department will receive 980 additional staff positions. The Information Technology & Innovation Department and TDC projects received approval for new positions,s which will be filled through contract arrangements.

The Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department will retain its ICT personnel. The hiring restrictions that applied to Tourism and Archaeology and Museums and their associated departments have been relaxed.

The Punjab Police developed a recruitment strategy to hire 1,000 personnel for their Crime Control Department (CCD) operations. The recruitment will include Constables and Driver Constables. The Home Department received the summary, which the Chief Minister will review for final approval.

The recruitment process will begin after approval. The new staff members will enhance security measures and boost tourism operations,s and extend digital service capabilities. The Punjab Cabinet approved job openings for 2026, which will benefit thousands of applicants.
