LAHORE: The government of Punjab has issued an advisory to halt the public from donating animal hides to banned outfits and their sub-organizations, according to media reports.

The Home Department has also issued the list of the banned outfits, which can be found on the government website.

“Citizens should donate the skins of the animals to only the entities registered with the Punjab Charity Commission”, the advisory reads, while adding that any assistance to the banned groups is a criminal offence under the Anti-terrorism Act 1997.

According to the home department, the QR Code on each registered body’s registration certification can be used for verification.

“Permissions to collect sacrificial hides to Madaris and other charitable organizations are granted by the deputy commissioners,” the home department stated in its circular.

Additionally, information about the banned organizations is available on the websites of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and the Punjab Charity Commission.

Eid ul Adha (Feast of sacrifice) will be celebrated in Pakistan on 10 Zilhajj (June 07) on coming Saturday.
