LAHORE: The Punjab government has started the process of providing financial assistance to deserving citizens under the Fuel Relief Program, launched to provide relief to the people from the burden of inflation.
Under this program, a subsidy of Rs 2,000 has been transferred to the bank accounts of eligible individuals.
According to government sources, this amount has been transferred through the Bank of Punjab to those individuals who had applied for the program as per the prescribed procedure and whose applications were approved after regular scrutiny.
The main objective of this scheme is to provide convenience to those citizens who use motorcycles for daily transportation and are under financial pressure due to rising fuel prices.
Officials say that only those individuals have been declared eligible for this subsidy in whose name a personal motorcycle is registered, while the details of the applicants were also verified with the data of NADRA and other relevant institutions to ensure transparency.
In addition, the government has also emphasized that the assistance reaches only the genuine beneficiaries, which is why a strict monitoring system has been introduced.
It has been further informed that citizens do not need to visit any office to get their money, but can easily withdraw the money by checking their respective bank accounts. Those who have received the money are also being informed through SMS so that they can avail this facility promptly.
