LAHORE: The real truth behind the news of summer vacations in educational institutions in May has come to light, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has denied the rumors circulating.
According to details, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has dispelled the rumors circulating in the educational institutions of the province and clarified that the final decision on the vacations will be made after May 15.
The Education Minister says that no formal announcement has been made regarding the vacation schedule yet and all decisions will be made after the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to reports, the government is considering cutting 15 to 20 days in the summer vacations this year so that the curriculum can be completed on time.
Plans are being made to increase the number of teaching days in the academic year from 180 to 190, in addition, a proposal to reduce the winter vacations by 5 to 6 days is also under consideration.
Rana Sikandar Hayat says that too many holidays are causing educational losses for students, which must be addressed.
Although the government is keen to reduce holidays, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for a severe heat wave in Punjab.
Experts say that if the temperature becomes unbearable at the end of May, the government may have to announce early holidays as in the past, keeping in mind the health of students.
