Punjab govt launches Rs. 5,000 “Eidi Program 2026”

LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has announced the launch of the “Rs. 5,000 Eidi Program 2026” to provide financial relief to citizens amid rising inflation and increasing Eid expenses.

The initiative aims to support low-income individuals so they can prepare for the festive occasion without financial stress.

According to officials, eligible citizens will receive Rs. 5,000 each, which will be transferred directly through digital platforms such as Easypaisa and JazzCash. This digital payment system is intended to ensure transparency and efficiency in the disbursement process.

  • Program Name: Rs. 5,000 Eidi Program 2026

  • Financial Assistance: Rs. 5,000 per person

  • Minimum Age: 12 years

  • Required Identification: National ID card or B-Form

  • Payment Method: Easypaisa or JazzCash

Purpose of the Initiative

The provincial government stated that the program is designed to help citizens manage additional Eid-related expenses, including clothing, food, and travel. It also aims to strengthen transparency in welfare distribution through digital payments.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a resident of Punjab

  • Minimum age of 12 years

  • Individuals aged 18 or above must have a valid national ID card

  • Applicants aged 12–17 must provide a B-Form

  • A valid mobile phone number is required

  • Having an Easypaisa or JazzCash account is recommended

Payment Timeline

Authorities have stated that payments will begin a few weeks before Eid. Eligible individuals will be notified via SMS, and funds will be directly transferred to their mobile wallets.

  • Enter your ID card or B-Form number

  • Provide your mobile number

  • Select Easypaisa or JazzCash as the payment method

  • Submit the application form

Digital Payment System

  • Direct transfer to Easypaisa wallet

  • Transfer to JazzCash account

  • Option to withdraw cash through nearby agents

The government emphasized that this initiative will provide immediate financial relief while ensuring a fast and transparent distribution system for citizens across Punjab.
