According to officials, citizens can now register their marriage easily and securely. A modern system has been introduced to obtain a marriage certificate in e-Khidmat centers so that people can complete their documents in less time. The offices will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm where citizens can also get guidance from the relevant staff.

Citizens can refer to the e-Khidmat Punjab website

for more information and guidance, while helpline 1317 can also be contacted. Officials say that the aim of providing online information is to save citizens from unnecessary rounds of offices.

On the other hand, NADRA has already clarified the procedure for obtaining a marriage certificate through the union council. It is mandatory for every married couple to register their marriage at the Union Council. For registration, copies of the marriage certificate, identity cards of the bride and groom, identity cards of the parents and identity cards of the witnesses are required.

According to the authorities, either the bride or groom can go to the Union Council and complete the registration process. The staff first verifies all the documents, then the marriage certificate is entered into the computerized system. After this, a printout is given to the applicant for proofreading so that all the information can be re-checked. If the details are correct, the marriage certificate is issued after signing.
