LAHORE: The Punjab government made plans to disburse December salaries to Christian employees much earlier than usual, on or before December 20.

The idea is to help Christian government employees celebrate Christmas to the point of being done beforehand.

The provincial finance department has notified all departments to ensure timely payment of salaries and pensions to all the Christian workers. It is a good step that will enable Christian employees to make arrangements for their Christmas celebrations.

The Sindh government has also followed suit and decided to release salaries and pensions for its Christian employees before time.

Salaries would be paid by December 18, ahead of Christmas on December 25, according to the notification. This decision will lift the spirits of Christian employees in Sindh, who will now be able to celebrate the festival with their family.
