Senior PPP leader Fauzia Habib passes away

KARACHI: Senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former member of the National Assembly, Fauzia Habib, has passed away.

The funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered today, Sunday, July 5, at 10 pm at H-8 Cemetery, Islamabad.

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Fauzia Habib. President Asif Ali Zardari termed the death of Fauzia Habib a great loss for the Pakistan Peoples Party and national politics.

He said that the deceased had dedicated her entire political life to public service, strengthening democracy and promoting the party’s ideology.

Fauzia Habib was not only a dynamic and talented leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, but she also demonstrated her abilities while holding various responsibilities. Her services will always be appreciated.

The statement further said that the deceased also served as a member of the staff of the President’s House during the first term of President Asif Ali Zardari, which lasted from 2008 to 2013.

During this period, she rendered services with utmost honesty, dedication, and professional responsibility, which are still valued today.

The President expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased, party leaders and workers, and prayed that Allah Almighty may grant Fauzia Habib a high position in His mercy, forgive her and elevate her ranks, while giving the bereaved family the strength to bear this irreparable loss with patience and fortitude.
