Punjab to launch ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ farming initiative

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announces the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” scheme, as this plan will help provide government land across Punjab to 50,000 aspirational farmers, stimulating agricultural activity in the process.

steps are immediately being set to roll out this audacious program that promises to boost employment and improve agricultural production. This is a move that might change agriculture, economics, and living.

Government lands that this program will cater to will improve production and sustain food and agriculture. Moreover, this is also aiming to encourage young people to pursue farming.

Apart from farming activities, the initiative is projected to give rise to numerous jobs in other sectors such as Excise, Tourism Police, IT, and healthcare, thus helping to achieve the government’s policy target to deliver one million jobs in the next two years.

Rural spending, livestock, cultural activities, and agriculture-related ventures are likely to receive an added boost as well.

Punjab’s move to launch the project named ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ to allow public farming on government land featured in the 32nd Punjab cabinet meeting headed by CM Maryam Nawaz.

Moreover, the landmark project and forward-thinking future strategy are featured in the cabinet. Nonetheless, the highlight of the cabinet session is the approval to allow the operation of the Shandar Green Bus service across districts as well as the tehsil level.

Moreover, the Punjab cabinet sanctioned the purchase of 1,000 new electric buses with the cashless payment system to begin from March 25.

Furthermore, hundreds of fresh posts were cleared for young professionals in various departments like CCD, Excise, Tourism Police, IT & Innovation, TDCP, etc.

Measures were also initiated to recruit more staff for Specialized ICT Staff in the healthcare sector. In addition, hiring procedures in departments like Tourism, Archaeology, and Museums have been relaxed to recruit faster.

Yet another step was that the administration decided to recruit 216 constables in the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department, 1,000 in the Crime Control Department, and 980 in the Murree Tourism Police.

Intending to promote rural economic development as well as preserve heritage culture, the cabinet has directed that Horse & Cattle Shows at the district level, together with other events accompanying them, should be held as an exemplary case in this respect.

The prospects are favorable regarding the wheat crops in the Potohar region following rains, making farmers in this area optimistic.
