LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered a comprehensive crackdown on inflation across the province to ensure price stability and prevent hoarding during Ramadan, here on Sunday.
As per the details, in a high-level meeting with commissioners and deputy commissioners, she directed officials to strictly implement the government price lists, ensuring that they are clearly visible in the markets. She also directed the authorities to closely monitor the supply chain to prevent hoarding and artificial price hikes.
The Chief Secretary has been tasked with monitoring the campaign and collecting daily reports on food prices and quality. Moreover, district authorities have been asked to keep a close watch on the prices of flour and bread, while the Punjab Food Authority will conduct inspections to maintain the quality of food.

Maryam Nawaz also assured the public that essential commodities would be provided at reduced rates in Ramadan bazaars and that she would personally monitor the prices of food items through a digital dashboard. She warned that profiteers and hoarders would face strict legal action without any concessions.
