Rangers Inspector martyred in robbery attempt in Shaheed Benazirabad

NAWABSHAH: A Rangers official was martyred during a robbery attempt on Qazi Ahmed Road in Nawabshah, Shaheed Benazirabad District, on Tuesday.

According to the police, Ranger’s inspector namely Shahrukh Khan was shot dead by two armed robbers at 1:30 pm today. The robbers had also stolen Rs410,000 in cash from a citizen.

“Ranger’s inspector was going for depositing cash to Nawabshah City in his vehicle when the suspect opened fire upon seeing him,” the police statement said.

As a result of the gunfire, the inspector sustained injuries and was shifted to the PMC Hospital Nawabshah. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Nawabshah Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tanveer Tunio said that the police have arrested the accused and recovered the looted cash from them.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in a statement, paid homage to Rangers Inspector Shah Rukh Khan and expressed heartfelt condolences to his family.

“Shah Rukh Khan had achieved the highest rank of martyrdom while performing his duties. We salute the sacrifice of Shah Rukh Khan,” the Interior Minister said.
