KP Govt launches Digital Motor Vehicle Registration & Universal Number Plate System

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) and KP Excise Department have launched Motor Vehicle Registration System and Universal Number Plate System under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur under Vision 2030.

As per the details, developed by KPITB within just two months by fully digitizing the existing systems, the initiative brings motor vehicle services directly to the fingertips of citizens.

Initially, the system will be open for walk-in citizens. From October 1, citizens will be able to apply, transfer ownership and pay fees online through Dastak application, which will provide even more convenience.

Key services include:

  1. Obtaining a Unique Registration Number and Universal Number Plate.
  2. Registering new vehicles and applying for Universal Number Plates.
  3. Viewing token tax details and paying online.
  4. Registration for vehicles from other provinces.
  5. NADRA verification integration.
  6. Seamless online payments via Paymir through any bank or digital wallet.
Additional Features
  1. Vehicle ownership transfers.
  2. Vehicle amendments (attribute changes).
  3. Owner detail updates.
  4. Registration of auctioned vehicles and transfer of registration numbers.
  5. A centralized vehicle database to prevent duplicate registrations.
  6. Unified database for old and new vehicles.

This system revolutionizes motor vehicle services, ensuring efficiency, transparency and convenience for the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
