RAWALPINDI: In a ground breaking development, the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, called a meeting in order to establish 16 low-cost Ramzan bazaars across the district.
These bazaars will provide essential items like vegetables, fruits, pulses, flour, and sugar in subsidized rates during the holy month of Ramazan. The bazaars will remain open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will have marquees to provide shade from rain.
These stalls will be allocated to wholesale dealers free-of-charge and various commodities such as vegetables, lentils, sugar, flour, ghee, oil, chicken, eggs, and meat will be available at discounted rates under the Punjab government’s Ramazan Eric special subsidy package.
The bazaars will be set up in various locations throughout the Rawalpindi city, including Committee Chowk, Haidri Chowk, Allama Iqbal Park, Dhok Hassu, Morgah, Gulzar-i-Quaid, Cantonment areas, Chungi No. 22, Dhok Syedan, Sadiqabad, and Choher Harpal.
Besides, one bazaar each will be set up in tehsils of Kahuta, Kallar Syedan, Gujar Khan, and Taxila. To operate these bazaars, private vendors would be engaged for erecting tents, providing canopies, chairs, and stall tables.
The idea is to provide relief to the citizens of Rawalpindi by making essential items available at affordable prices during the holy month of Ramazan.
