RAWALPINDI: In a ground breaking move, PGSDC Landesgruppen Dog Show introduced a distinct category for the first cat show in the history of Pakistan which has received an immensely overwhelming response from all the pet lovers.
A young visitor, Ibrahim Faisal, seemed extremely pleased while watching the cat show. He said that he and his family also keep Persian cats at their home.
He mentioned that if they knew about this cat show, they would have brought their cats too to participate in this show. The event was jointly organized by the Pak Kennel Club and PMAS-Arid Agriculture University, and featured over 200 dogs from 50 breeds such as Golden Retriever, Pointer, Alsatian, German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd, Husky, Bulldog, Boer Bull, and American Bully.
Each dog, along with its trainers and owners, presented a great show of its behavior and skills to entertain the arrivals with its agility and obedience. A highlight of the event was the competitions between German Shepherds, showcasing their strength and speed in walking and running with their trainers especially made arenas.
German Shepherds wowed the audience with various tricks and pieces of obedience amidst rounds of applause going wild. All the viewers liked the Siberian Huskies, who spellbound everyone with their beauty and charm; many stopped to click selfies with them.
The moment of the day was the owner of the Siberian Husky ‘Badshah‘, who told that her dog received first place and said, “Huskies thrive in winter, but in summer they need special cooling arrangements.“
The show organizer Imtiaz Shah said, “The main motive of the show is to entertain as well as create awareness among people regarding pet care.“
The families and pet owners visiting the show termed the day a wonderful Sunday holiday spree and desired to have more such recreational activities in the future. It was indeed a highly successful event, but the inclusion of the cat show to the classical concept of dog shows, things turned fun for everybody who had assembled to see their favorites.
All the bonding was very nicely presented at this show where it became pretty apparent that pets were certainly the stars at the event; after all, their joyful expressions on having a happy day would automatically have translated to keep others amused too.
