Rawalpindi: In Rawalpindi, motorcycle riders are now prohibited from accessing major flyovers during the banned Basant festival to prevent any potential mishaps.

Despite police efforts to prevent celebrations, residents of the city defied the ban and partook in festivities, with colorful kites adorning the Pindi sky as they embraced spring traditions.

Rawalpindi police have announced the closure of flyovers along Murree Road, Airport Road, and other areas for two-wheelers. Additionally, individuals engaged in aerial firing have been apprehended. Authorities have emphasized the need for strict penalties for kite-flying, including imprisonment for up to five years, in the province.
