RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced plans to build the city’s first cycling track. Project planning has been started on an urgent basis.
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza shared the update with journalists in Rawalpindi. He explained that the cycling track will extend from Kachhari Chowk to Faizabad Interchange connecting the twin cities.
The track will be built on both sides of the road, and motorcyclists will also be allowed to use it to facilitate their journey.
Regarding the cost and funding of the project, Murtaza noted that the RDA aims to complete the track through corporate social responsibility initiatives with the support of the private sector. However, if required, RDA will fund the project independently due to its public and environment-friendly benefits.
