e-Pay Punjab reaches record tax collection of over Rs. 600 billion

LAHORE: e-Pay Punjab, a joint initiative of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Finance Department, has collected over PKR 600 billion in tax revenue through over 6.94 million transactions since its launch in October 2019.

As per the details, this was informed during the project review meeting held at Arfa Software Technology Board chaired by Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf.

Moreover, the government has collected a total of Rs 417 billion as sales tax, Rs 20 billion as token tax, Rs 15 billion as traffic challan and Rs 36 billion as property tax. Apart from this, tax revenue of Rs 9 billion was obtained through online vehicle transfer.

e-Pay Punjab now offers online payment of 86 taxes/levies across 18 departments. Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf said that e-Pay Punjab’s integration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and all scheduled banks through the 1-Link network makes it a secure and reliable payment channel.

With over 4.77 million downloads, the e-Pay Punjab application generates a unique PSID number that can be used by banks across Pakistan through their respective channels including internet and mobile banking, ATMs, telco agents, mobile wallets and counters (OTC) is accepted with physical.

e-Pay Punjab is proving to be an innovative and reliable one-stop solution for online government tax payments, allowing citizens to make payments from the comfort of their homes.
