PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has opened registration for its new Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme which provides monthly fuel assistance of Rs. 2,200 to support low-income citizens through rising petrol prices.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish the Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme which will deliver fuel cost relief to motorcycle and scooter and rickshaw owners who face rising fuel expenses.

The initiative provides registered vehicle owners with monthly fuel assistance worth Rs. 2000. Officials created the scheme to protect lower-income groups from the combined effects of inflation and unpredictable fuel price changes.

The applicants need to show their vehicle ownership through registered documents that prove the complete transfer of their vehicle to them.

The subsidy program will only provide benefits to vehicles that are either registered by the applicant or registered to the applicant’s name. The authorities announced that citizens will start registration for the scheme on April 6 to access financial support through the official process.

The program is part of the provincial government’s broader strategy to provide economic relief to vulnerable segments of society affected by rising living costs.

The KP government will give registered motorcycle owners in the province Rs2,200 as financial support. The relief amount will be distributed in two instalments to help citizens cope with the sudden increase in fuel costs.

About 1.5 million motorcycles are currently registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. The provincial government will effectively the registration process for motorcycle license holders in the province.
