LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket team captain and current national test team coach Sarfaraz Ahmed’s brother-in-law Amir Waheed Siddiqui has passed away.
According to family sources, Amir Waheed Siddiqui passed away in Amman yesterday. His funeral prayers were offered in Amman itself, after which he was buried in a local cemetery. The family and close relatives are saddened by the death of the deceased.
According to sources, Amir Waheed Siddiqui was the younger brother of Zia Siddiqui, a well-known figure associated with Karachi region cricket. The Siddiqui family has been associated with Karachi’s cricket and sports activities for a long time. For this reason, the news of the deceased’s death also saddened those associated with sports.
Various cricket personalities and Sarfaraz Ahmed’s close circles expressed condolences on the death of Amir Waheed Siddiqui. Social, political and sports personalities also expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased.
