ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Consulate in Los Angeles has warned of a misleading online post circulating in cyberspace, which claims to contain an important message pertaining to Pakistan visas, but in reality is nothing but a hoax.
As confirmed by the officials, the message contains information that is false and not from the Government of Pakistan. As confirmed by the consulate, the message is part of a bigger plan intended to mislead visa applicants and obtain their sensitive information.
It is pertinent to note that the consulate has officially clarified that it distances itself from all unauthorized persons or agencies and will not be accountable or responsible for any loss or damage caused due to interactions with such sources.
According to officials, the scam message seems to be sent from the consulate and asks the visa applicants to click on some unauthorized links so that their personal information can be collected through those links.
The consulate reiterated that all Pakistani visas can only be applied for online through the government-approved online visa portal. In this regard, applicants were urged not to resort to third parties or websites even if they claim to offer priority or exclusive services.
