ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank signed two important projects worth $730 million.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, a second power transmission project worth $330 million was signed.
The Economic Affairs Spokesperson said that the transformation program of state-owned enterprises was signed, which is worth $400 million.
The spokesperson said that the transmission project will enable the reliable transmission of 2300 MW of electricity from upcoming hydropower projects, and the transformation program of the state-owned enterprise will ensure the effective implementation of the SOE Act and policy.
According to the spokesperson, the Asian Development Bank Country Director appreciated the strong commitment of the Government of Pakistan to these measures.
The Economic Affairs Spokesperson said that the Asian Development Bank Country Director Emma Phan said that the reform program of state-owned enterprises will further strengthen the reform efforts of the Government of Pakistan.
