LODHRAN: The principal of a private school in Pakistan’s LodhranECP declares Rana Faraz Noon winner of NA-154 (Lodhran) city was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a seventh-grade student nine months ago.
The accused, who also owns the school, was taken into custody by Lodhran Sadar police on a complaint from the father of the 12-year-old girl. The victim had stopped going to school after the incident but had not disclosed it to her parents until recently.
According to district police spokesman Khan Bahadur, the girl was a student of the school in Basti Lalwala. The principal allegedly forced her into a classroom on the pretext of cleaning duty, closed the door and sexually assaulted her. He then threatened her to keep quiet.
The victim’s father said his daughter was upset and withdrawn after the incident but did not reveal what happened. It was only recently that she told her parents about the attack.
A case of rape was registered against the accused and she was arrested on the orders of DPO Kamran Mumtaz. The victim’s medical examination is yet to be conducted.
