MURREE: The authorities of Murree have applied Section 144 on the Mall Road as well as all around the hill station before Eid-ul-Adha holiday in order to provide peace and smooth entry and exit of residents and tourists visiting the town.

According to an official notification, section 144 is being implemented in Murree from today till 31 May.

Tourist families are allowed to come to the Mall Road within the given period, as it is one of the main tourist spots during the Eid holidays.

Further, there is also a ban on hooliganism, public disturbance, and even possession of firearms and fireworks.

These measures have been adopted by the government in order to avoid any unpleasant events, traffic jams, etc., since there will be a huge influx of tourists coming to visit the place during these Eid holidays.

Security personnel, along with law enforcement agencies, have been asked to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with section 144.

In addition, section 144 has been declared throughout the province of Punjab for seven days from May 27 to June 2 as the Eid al-Adha holiday begins.

The measures have been undertaken focusing on cleanliness, environmental issues, and public safety issues in the festive season.
