ABBOTABAD: Security forces foiled an attempt by Fitna al-Khawarij to launch drone attacks in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera.
Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said in a social media statement that the Afghan Taliban-backed Fitna al-Khawarij had attempted to launch attacks using small drones in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera.
Atta Tarar said that Pakistan’s anti-drone systems shot down all the drones promptly, and there were no casualties in the three incidents.
The Information Minister further said that these incidents have once again exposed the direct links between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorism in Pakistan.
On the other hand, a blast took place outside the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Pabini village of Swabi, injuring a student.
In this regard, Swabi police officials said that the blast was allegedly carried out by dropping explosives through a drone, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
