KOHAT: Security forces in Kohat shot down three rudimentary drones used by militants backed by the Afghan Taliban on March 13, according to security sources.

The drones were reportedly launched by members of the group referred to as Fitna ul Khawarij. However, security forces successfully intercepted and destroyed all three drones before they could reach their intended targets.

Officials said that two civilians were injured after debris from the downed drones fell in a populated area. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Security authorities stated that Pakistani forces remain on high alert to counter potential threats from militant groups operating with support from across the border in Afghanistan.

Officials also warned that any terrorist activity in Pakistan traced back to Afghan territory would be met with a strong response, targeting militant hideouts and support networks inside Afghanistan.
