Senior politician Malik Niaz Ahmed Jhekar passes away
LAYAH: Prominent politician from Layah and former Member of National Assembly elected on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket, Malik Niaz Ahmed Jhekar, has passed away.
The news of his death has sent a wave of grief in the political and social circles of the area.
According to family sources, the deceased had been ill for some time, due to which he met his Creator. He was the father of current Member of National Assembly Owais Haider Jhekar, who is currently holding the National Assembly seat from Layah.
It should be noted that Malik Niaz Ahmed Jhekar won representation in the National Assembly 4 times during his long political career and also suffered electoral defeat four times.
His political life was associated with different parties and he always participated in solving the problems of the people of the area and in development works.
In the last phase of his political journey, he won a seat in the National Assembly on the platform of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and won the 2018 elections. His activities were always known for public service and the betterment of the area.
Political leaders, workers and citizens expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to the deceased on his death. According to the family, the details of the funeral prayer and burial will be announced soon, in which people of the area will participate and pray for the eternal peace of the deceased.
