KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sindh government has issued a two-day public holiday on December 25 and 26. This announcement is made in connection with the nation’s readiness for Quaid-e-Azam Day, which is a commemoration of the life and achievements of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

In the notification issued by the provincial government, December 25 will be regarded as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday and further designated a Christian holiday on December 26 for the observation of Christmas.

Both days will be public holidays for all government offices so that the citizens will pay homage to the vision, leadership, and contribution of the Quaid to the founding of the country.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876. His birthday, on December 25, is celebrated annually in Pakistan as a national holiday, known as Quaid-e-Azam Day or Yom-e-Quaid. Various events and ceremonies are held throughout Pakistan on this day in honor of the great man.

Along with the notification issued by the provincial government, the State Bank of Pakistan has also issued a notification stating that banks will remain closed all day on December 25.

This will permit the celebrations to continue in honor of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas across the province.
