KARACHI: The Sindh government has launched a job portal to create employment opportunities for citizens, which includes job listings from both government and private sector organizations.
As per the media reports, the launching ceremony was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, leaders of the business community and other important figures.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted that 65 percent of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, and the portal has been specially designed to cater to their employment needs. He explained that both educated individuals and skilled workers can upload their CVs to access opportunities.
Memon added that, apart from government jobs, the portal will facilitate connections between job seekers and private sector employers. He pointed out that while many youths aspire for government posts, initiatives like the People’s Housing Scheme are also creating employment opportunities for skilled workers.
Speaking at the event, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stressed that the newly launched job portal will enable the youth of the province to register for employment opportunities. He stressed that when talent gets an opportunity, development happens, urging job seekers and employers to sign up in large numbers.
He said that job advertisements for grades 1 to 4 will be published on the portal, while the vacancies for grades 5 to 15 will be filled through the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) to ensure a transparent recruitment process. Temporary jobs will also be integrated into the system, with efforts underway to promote the platform for wider participation.
Shah reiterated the PPP’s commitment to serve the people of Sindh, especially in light of the hardships caused by the recent floods. He revealed that under the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, a project of 2.1 million houses has been launched, of which more than 800,000 houses have already been completed. He added that if the houses built for the flood victims were considered a separate country, it would be bigger than 800 nations around the world.
