KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced the provincial government’s plan to provide motorcyclists with a monthly subsidy of Rs. 2,000 because the energy crisis worsened and petrol prices increased.

The chief minister announced during a Karachi press conference that the program will help reduce expenses for people who depend on motorcycles as their main transportation method.

He announced that a new mobile application will begin operation within the next two to three days to enable users to register motorcycles with their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).

The CM Murad Ali Shah announcement established free motorcycle ownership transfer between riders because this new system will promote vehicle registration under individual ownership for subsidy eligibility.

The government plan will provide fuel subsidies at a rate of Rs. 100 per liter, with payments starting 15 days after customers complete their registration process.

Motorcyclists can check their registration status through the Excise Department’s official website, according to his statement, and the department will send Rs. 2,000 monthly payments to verified riders who meet the eligibility requirements.

The Sindh government has launched financial assistance programs to help small-scale farmers who suffer from increased diesel costs. Farmers who control up to 2 million acres will receive a Rs. 1,500 per acre subsidy, which will start showing payments on Monday. Larger landowners, however, will not be eligible under this scheme.
