KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) announced a revised gas supply schedule for December 2024 to mitigate the winter demand and low-pressure problems usually experienced during the winter season.
It is one of the major gas distribution companies that supply gas to millions of customers in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other parts of the country.
As per directives from the government, SNGPL has earmarked specific times for the uninterrupted provision of full-pressure gas to domestic consumers for those hours.
Consequently, consumers are advised to plan their daily activities around these timings for convenient cooking and heating during the cold season. Through time slot divide-break-in-specific-order, SNGPL believes it will equally divide customer needs versus the provisioning problem being faced due to a hike in seasonal demand.
SNGPL has designated three-time slots for gas availability:
6:00 AM to 9:00 AM: To facilitate morning meals and heating.
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM: For midday cooking and heating.
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM: To support evening meal preparations and warmth.
One of the SNGPL spokespersons stated that gas would be supplied at complete pressure during these certain hours throughout all service areas. This ensures customers that the organization remains steadfast in providing a neutral, unbroken, and customer-oriented supply of gas to them.
This new schedule has been drawn to enable consumers to use gas better at a time when gas consumption traditionally peaks because of the use of heaters, boilers, and longer cooking hours.
The company urged consumers to optimally use the gas during the time slots allocated and implement energy conservation to alleviate demand pressures. To live up to these and many other properly articulated procedures, gas consumers can save such a system from facing energy disruption.
Further, SNGPL also urges consumers to stay connected with the company’s official communication for gas supply and other service updates.
