ISLAMABAD: Startled India has been gradually blocking social media accounts of several prominent personalities in Pakistan, including politicians and actresses.

In a recent development, panicked India has blocked the Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts of Pakistan Inter Services and Pubic Relations (ISPR) after being exposed over false claims in the Pahalgam attack.

The action follows the ISPR’s Director General’s unambiguous disclosure of facts and the exposure of Indian fabrications surrounding the Pahalgam scandal on April 29 and 30.

According to sources, the Modi administration panicked when ISPR’s thorough rebuttal refuted India’s story with facts, making New Delhi look foolish in front of the world.

Serious worries regarding freedom of expression and the dissemination of false information in the area have been highlighted by the Modi government’s efforts to stifle the truth.

Earlier, India banned the official YouTube account of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as well as blocked prominent Pakistani YouTube channels, stating that these YouTube channels were promoting provocative content in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and  Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Indian media, the ban came into effect on the recommendations of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs. The banned YouTube channels have more than 63 million subscribers.

According to the list of major Pakistani news organizations, including Dawn, Geo News, ARY News, Bol News, Samaa TV, Suno News, and Raftar, have been banned in India.

Additionally, YouTube channels of prominent journalists YouTube channels including Irshad Bhatti, Asma Shirazi, Umar Cheema, and Muneeb Farooq, are also prohibited.

Other websites that got hit by India included the Pakistan Reference, Samaa Sports, Uzair Cricket, and Razi Naama.
