LAHORE: Rajab Butt, an established YouTuber and TikToker has recently issued an apology video amid the controversy surrounding his content and perfume brand.
Earleir, a case was filed against Rajan Butt under PECA ACT for alledly creating blasphemous content and hurting religious sentiments and beliefs of the community.
The controversy started when Butt launches a perfume named 295, which led to heavy social media criticism for its name. In his vlog, Rajab proudly announced the launch of perfume 295, dedicating it to the Punjabi music artist Sidhu Moose Wala.
Rajab explained that Sidhu Moose Wala is my idol, and we both share similar cases, one of which is Case 295, which later sparked outrage among the public.
Social media users started the debate on the actual meaning of the case, stating that Rajab should not be proud of this title. For context, under the law, cases 295 A and 295 C are cases for blasphemy and using inappropriate actions or words that hurt religious sentiments.
Rajab later deleted the video from this social media platforms and stopped selling the perfume 295.
Currently, Rajab is performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia, from where he issued an apology video stating he did not mean to hurt anyone’s religious belief and that He is extremely sorry if he unintentionally caused any damage to people’s feelings.
He urged the courts and government to reconsider his case and forgive him.
Howeverm this is not the first time Rajab Butt has sparked controversies on social media, he has several cases on his name due to similar content.
