Strict security plan prepared for New Year’s Night

LAHORE: A strict security plan has been prepared for New Year’s Night, violators will be punished.

Punjab Police has completed a security plan to ensure law and order for New Year’s Night, IG Punjab Usman Anwar has directed to increase security across the province including Lahore on New Year’s Night.

According to the police spokesperson, more than 25,000 police officers and personnel will perform security duty across the province on New Year’s Night, while more than 5,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed in Lahore alone.

Activities will be monitored through CCTV cameras across Punjab, including Lahore, IG Punjab has directed the police to remain on high alert and keep a close watch on anti-national elements.

IG Punjab Usman Anwar said that one-wheeling, aerial firing and rioting will not be allowed on New Year’s Night, mischievous elements who harass women and citizens will be taken into custody.

IG Punjab Usman Anwar has directed to ensure coordinated traffic arrangements on New Year’s Night, Dolphin Squad, Peru, Elite Force, PHP teams have also been directed to increase patrolling on roads and highways.

IG Punjab has said that search and sweep operations should be continued regularly in all cities including Lahore.
