LAHORE: A fire broke out in the cargo coach of the Tezgam Express travelling from Lahore to Karachi near Raiwind Railway Station, causing significant damage to the goods stored inside.
According to Rescue 1122, the incident took place near the Haluki Railway Crossing, where emergency services were informed about the fire. Rescue teams immediately reached the spot and successfully doused the fire in the baggage van.
According to the report, the fire broke out in the cargo section, causing panic among the passengers on board the train. Fortunately, no one was injured, as the fire was brought under control before it spread to the passenger compartments.
The railway administration took immediate action by separating the affected cargo coach from the rest of the train to ensure the safety of the passengers and prevent further damage.
An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the fire.
