THAL: Hospital investigators started their investigation after receiving reports about unauthorized usage of spaces at the Paediatrics (Paeds) OPD ward at THQ Thal Hospital.
The District Health Authority of Layyah issued an official notification that announced the formation of a three-member inquiry committee to examine the situation.
The incident occurred in the evening on March 31, 2026. Dr. Khadim Hussain leads the committee, which includes Dr. Muhammad Arshad and Mr. Ahson Ali as its members.
The committee will investigate all claims, which will include establishing who is accountable, while preparing an official report that must be completed within three days. A hospital employee alleged that workers at the Paeds ward used specific rooms for illegal activities, which led to the inquiry.
The investigation remains active because officials have not confirmed the allegations yet. The authorities announced that they will impose strict penalties when hospital personnel violate any established guidelines or professional codes of conduct.
The Punjab Health Department and the Deputy Commissioner of Layyah received duplicate copies of the notification, which was distributed to senior officials.
The latest development has created uncertainty about how public healthcare facilities will handle their oversight responsibilities and maintain accountability, yet officials declare their commitment to keeping the investigation transparent.
