ISLAMABAD: PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have filed appeals in the Islamabad High Court against their conviction in the Toshakhana-II case.

The PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have filed two separate appeals against their conviction in the Toshakhana-II case.

The appeals argued that the prosecution had failed to prove the case against the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, and that the Bulgarian seat in the Toshakhana case was kept by the former ruling couple as per the rules.

The appeals said that Sohaib Abbasi was illegally made a witness in the Sultani case. The court relied on the statement of the promisor, which could not be done.

The appeals further said that the Special Central Court did not have the authority to hear the case, and that multiple punishments cannot be given for the same crime. The case was registered without investigation, and is being targeted for political revenge.

The court has been requested to declare the Tosha Khana II verdict against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi null and void.

Diary number 24560 has been assigned to the appeal of the founder of PTI and diary number 24561 has been assigned to the appeal of Bushra Bibi.

It should be remembered that the Special Judge Central had sentenced the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi to a total of 17 years in prison, which was challenged in the High Court.
